Free Gamma Alternatives for AI Presentations

Short answer
- Best for open-source AI decks Presenton
- Best for credits that renew monthly SlidesAI Basic
- Best for markdown slides, no AI limits Slidev
Gamma (gamma.app) has a Free plan, but it gives 400 AI credits at signup, not a monthly allowance. If you want more free AI slide decks, you have these routes:
- Open source, run it yourself: Presenton or ALLWEONE Presentation AI. The software is free. Use a local model for free, or pay your AI provider for an API key.
- Free plans with AI credits: Canva Free, Pitch Free, SlidesAI Basic and Presentations.ai Starter. No install, but each has limits.
- Free plan, AI not confirmed on Free: Zoho Show has a free plan for individuals. Zoho promotes Zia AI in Show, but the pricing page doesn't say if it's included free.
- Free, no AI deck generation: Slidev and Marp (Markdown slides, open source) are free with no AI limits.
Credits aren't comparable between tools, because each vendor defines a credit differently. We quote each vendor's own wording.

How we picked and checked
- How we picked: we started from what people search for alongside "free alternative to Gamma AI" (open source, PPT, students, free plans) and kept tools whose free plan or open-source license we could confirm on the tool's own pricing page, website or GitHub repository.
- How we checked: we read each pricing page, product page and README on 2026-10-23. Licenses come from GitHub's license data. Every listing links to the page we used.
- What we didn't do: we haven't made decks with these tools, so we don't rank them by quality. Prices and limits change, so check the linked page before you rely on them.
- Affiliate links: some links may earn us a commission. The open-source tools don't pay us.
